Dr Pamela Douglas

Dr Pam is a Breastfeeding Medicine Physician, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, an Associate Professor Adjunct with The School of Nursing and Midwifery at Griffith University and a Senior Lecturer with the General Practice Clinical Unit at the University of Queensland. Dr Pam is also the author of the The Discontented Little Baby Book and has published over 30 research publications for evidence-based international research literature.

In 2013, Dr Pam founded the charity Possums for Mothers and Babies which closed in August 2023. Since then, Dr Pam has been further developing her programs known as Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC or the Possums program) where she has upskilled hundreds of doctors and other health professionals to become NDC Accredited Practitioners through the NDC Institute. Dr Pam is delighted to be back assisting breastfeeding and lactating women and their families with the whole range of challenges they might face. 

This includes; 

  • Antenatal preparation for breastfeeding

  • Ankyloglossia

  • Induced lactation and re-lactation

  • The most complex kinds of breastfeeding and lactation problems

She is also available to help families with a baby in the first six months of life (breastfeeding or not) who cries and fusses a lot. She has special clinical and research expertise concerning the diagnoses of;

  • Allergy

  • Reflux

  • Lactose problem, and

  • Gut dysbiosis or wind pain in unsettled babies


You do not need a referral to see Dr Pam.

Bree Cosgrove

Bree Cosgrove has been a Registered Nurse for over seven years, is a Neuroprotective Developmental Care Practitioner (NDC) and an Educator for the NDC Institute where she assists in the upskilling of various care providers and educators. 

Bree, a mother of two young children, understands the profound need for compassionate support during this remarkable yet often overwhelming phase of life. Recognising the challenges posed by conflicting advice in todays society, Bree centers her practice on holistic and evidence-based strategies that prioritise the mental wellbeing of the entire family unit. 

Bree is delighted to be offering support for families facing infant or toddler sleep problems, and breastfeeding and lactating women with the range of challenges they may face.
